Becoming water conscious!
A fully lawned garden consumes vast amounts of the metered water!
The experts say that half of the metered water we use goes to keeping our lawns green all year round.
Natural grass needs up to 1,600 litres of water each year for every square metre. National Geographic states that the amount of water used on one square metre of grass can to give someone a shower every day for a month.
Most people are aware of the high cost of metered water and the fact that water is scarce during the warm summer months. Even though the UK has a lot of rain there are many times during the year were a hosepipe ban is imposed and natural grass will begin to die.
The UK is working towards reducing the impact on natural water supplies and offer financial incentives to save on water and electricity. An artificial lawn goes a long way to help preserve our natural water reserves.
