Follow these easy steps to maintain your artificial grass in pristine condition…
A small amount of maintenance will ensure that your new MazeGrass artificial grass lawn remains looking it’s best for many years to come. A small amount of work every now and then will extend the life of your artificial grass. These small steps will save you time and money in the long run!
Brushing the pile
Once your artificial grass is installed, it will take about 2-3 weeks to fully settle. Simple brushing with a stiff broom on a regular basis will help keep the blades upright. Regular brushing will avoid flat areas and keep your lawn looking consistently good. Using a stiff broom, gently brush the grass in the opposite direction to which the pile is leaning.
Leaves and other debris
All leaves and debris can easily be removed from the grass surface. Keeping your lawn free of wet leaves will maintain good drainage, the more debris there is on the surface the harder it is for surface water to drain away. Use a broom or leaf blower to clean way any mess. Some people have even been know to hoover their lawn to keep it look immaculate.
Weeds
Weeds can be a problem if a weed membrane isn’t used during installation. Using a membrane ensure that unwanted weeds and seed do not embed in the grass
All MazeGrass products have drainage holes in the backing to allow for sufficient drainage, which is why it is so important for a weed barrier to be placed directly below the grass. If any weed do grow through ensure that only a water-based weed killer is used. Always remember to remove any dead roots or weeds before installation.
Pets
Just like natural grass, animal waste should be removed by hand. The area can then be cleaned using warm water containing a weak (eco-friendly) detergent, such as washing-up liquid. Most stains will be removed this way. We assure you, any water will drain straight though the drainage holes, there will be no residue left on the surface.
